CHIROPRACTIC

A natural approach to restoring and optimizing nervous system function.

When motion within the spine and joints is restricted due to various stressors (i.e. physical trauma, poor posture), the upstream and downstream flow of vital communications between brain and muscles, glands and other tissues can be interrupted.

How does chiropractic work?

Specific chiropractic adjustments can help remove the restrictions and promote structural alignment, restore neurological input, provide nourishment to nerves and ensure optimal flow of vital instructions from brain to cells and from cells to brain.

At Renovo Health & Wellness, we offer a variety of chiropractic techniques: from non-force, light touch, to traditional high-velocity procedures, tailored to the personal needs and preferences of each patient.

SPORTS THERAPY

Holistic care for athletes and the physically active; from injury prevention to injury rehabilitation.

We use a combination of different techniques and approaches to care for musculoskeletal injuries and aid in the prevention of further injury. These include trigger point therapy, muscle release techniques, kinesiology, muscle activation techniques, cold-laser, percussion treatment, joint mobilization, taping and corrective exercises.

Our aim is to restore optimal proprioceptive input to allow the brain to facilitate muscle function and joint stabilization. We strive to optimize the timing and coordination of muscle contraction in order to keep joints stable and avoid injury.

Additionally, we provide dietary recommendations and supplementation strategies to ensure the availability of the necessary nutrients for optimal healing of damaged tissues.

COLD LASER

Photobiomodulation: the application of light for health and wellness.

High powered laser therapy, also called photobiomodulation (PBM), provides deep penetrating light and delivers energy to different tissues and cells to promote healing. A safe, painless and sterile modality that naturally reduces oxidative stress and increases energy production within cells.

Through specific programming features, laser light can penetrate and influence different tissues, including ligaments, muscles, nerves and cartilage.

Similar to photosynthesis in plants, light activates chromophores, the solar panels of our cells to promote energy production, enhance blood flow, stimulate protein and growth factor synthesis, reduce inflammation and decrease pain.

NUTRITION

Remove what creates imbalance, provide what creates balance.

Investigating the world of nutrition in modern times appears to be complicated and confusing. Opposing views are promoted as truths and absolute nutritional strategies are publicized as ideal solutions for everyone.

We believe in a more personalized approach: the ideal nutritional strategy varies from one individual to another based on multiple factors. Genetic predispositions, level of physical activity, metabolic and gut health, food sensitivities, lifestyle habits, for instance, can influence how an individual reacts to certain foods. Our goal is to help our patients explore and identify the best nutritional strategy for their specific makeup and goals.

Research appears to show that some dietary recommendations can be applied to most of the general population, such as the beneficial effects of whole foods as opposed to ultra-processed foods, the importance of protein, the role of high quality fats and fiber in health and disease and the harmful effects of certain forms of sugar. On the other hand, more case-specific recommendations need to be investigated and identified to develop personalized strategies, tailored to each individual.
